Febturday

Tomorrow is Febturday, and I cant be more excited. For the uninitiated, Febturday is a holiday we invented to celebrate Tony's refusal to allow us to throw him birthday parties. So, we made up another reason to throw him birthday parties. I made cookies.

Good Work

We did good work today. Improv and music.

Do not cross.

New Beginnings.

Ah yes. The first Renaissance Festival rehearsal of the season. This should be fun.

Free time?

Well, gaming ran long last night, and I was way too tired to care afterward, hence the silence. This will be my last lazy Sunday for awhile. It's that time of year where I don't have free time any more. No, I like it.

Happy.

I'm glad it's Friday.

Oops. Make that Saturday.

Shooting Zombies.

I feel like I've been doing a lot of work after work. So tonight I just kicked back with a beer and Left 4 Dead. Yeah, I think I needed that.

More of the same

Music, improv, zombies, secret project, Eve. More of the same, but in a good way.

Sushi

I broke down and went out for sushi tonight for dinner. I'm not really why I call it breaking down. A friend suggested it and I agreed. After that I got some Eve in and worked on that project I've been not talking about on here. Not a bad evening. I've stopped feeling like my evenings are completely unproductive, which I guess is a change for the better. 'Course, maybe I should relax.

President's Day.

Well, there's nothing new to speak of, but I have made progress on some of my ongoing works. A song and a super-secret side project that is too secret for the Internet to hear about. That's what I did today with President's Day off, along with take my car in for service (again).

I like having President's Day off. At my old job we didn't get this holiday, making for such a long haul between New Year's Day and Memorial Day. It's a lot for one person to handle. You need something in the middle to break the monotony. Good Job, Presidents of the United States. Here's to you!

Presidents

Tomorrow...or today rather, is President's Day. I actually have the day off work, which is weird because I don't work for a bank. Unfortunately I'm going to waste a significant portion of the day taking my car in for service. Wahoo.

I suppose I can't complain, though. There'll still be plenty of time for all those exciting activities I like to partake in like playing computer games and not leaving the house. Of course, I'll have to leave the house for a time to get my car to the mechanic, but you know how it goes. Yeah.

Mission Acompolished

My Valentine's Day goal was to lounge around the house all day in my underwear. It's February, so I did eventually put on pajama pants, but I think the spirit of epitomizing an unkempt, comfy bachelor was not compromised. I achieved my goal of not having to do nothing for nobody and being able to use as many negatives in a sentence as I so choose. I shall consider this Valentine's Day a success.

It is actually quite relaxing not having to buy flowers or make dinner reservations and all that jazz. I haven't been able to just sit back and relax on this silly corporate-manufactured holiday in several years. It came with an added bonus of being on a weekend where I could just stay at home and not have to be exposed to all those couples publicly celebrating their natural mating instinct.

Of course, I wouldn't want to do this _every_ year.

Spoiler Alert

Seriously, spoiler alert. If you're not up to date on Battlestar Galactica stop reading.

I chose the name "thirteenthcylon" to use as my handle in reference to the new Battlestar Galactica and the fact that there are supposedly 12 human-looking cylon models. This has been said since the beginning of the series. Now, nearing the end of the show, my name has foretold the prophecy of another cylon alluded to in tonight's episode.

It's like I'm psychic. Or at the very least I should write for a major science fiction program.

Safe

It's way past my bedtime, but the world is safe from zombies for one more day.

Feb. 11th, 2009

Hush

It's been a rather productive evening. I worked on my latest song idea and I'm making progress on another Top Secret project that I won't describe here on the Internet where anyone could read it if they just knew where to look. They don't know where to look. But I can't take that chance anyway!

That, some Cuban leftovers, and some EVE skill training has been my evening. Also, I'm totally in love with a waitress I saw today  at the Cuban restaurant. I'm going to have to go back there. Also, the food was good.

Creativities.

I haven't mentioned it on hear yet, but I'm working on another song. Music seems to be the creative endeavor I'm most excited about lately. I can live with that. Plus I'm young, I've got plenty of time to work on my novel writing, hehe. Also improv is going well, aside from not being able to perform often. Perhaps if I were able to mix improv and music I could combine my talents in one unstoppable creative force. Hmmm.

Project what?

Well, tonight wasn't terribly productive. But whatcha gonna do?

Road Trip!

Well, I guess the first thing to say is this weekend was super-badass. To make up for those past couple of days of entires, I'll go over some of the highlights.

Friday:

     - "Dan" songs. "Dan in the Box." "Dantom of the Opera." And much much worse.

Saturday:

     - When invented a sequel to "Left 4 Dead" called "8 to death".
     - Invention of the term "Nate Bait".
     - We realized the truth that the movies "jumper" and "Push" are part of the same trilogy, the final film being called "Splat".
     - David and Tony Miming the lyrics to "Time After Time".
     - Patronizing patrons at the DSI comedy theatre for not having seen "Goonies".

Today:

     - An hour long improvized text-based adventure game performed by David and Tony.
     - Remembering how awesome it is to have a band.

I know there was something just awesome from Friday that I'm forgetting, but I'm suffering from "Improv Memory" and just can't remember everything. Yes, this whole weekend was just one big improv scene.

Training

And for the most important decision of all, I decided to train Motion Prediction level 5 while I'm in North Carolina.

Planning.

Well, I'll be going to North Carolina for the weekend. Maybe I'll stock up on some haiku again. Or maybe I'll come up with something new.  Either way, the only day I'll really be gone is Saturday. Leave Friday, come back Sunday. Shouldn't be a big deal. But fun. That's what it will be.
